A file exported from Digital Edition File > Export Machine File does not appear on a ZSK machine.

A file exported from Digital Edition File > Export Machine File does not appear on a ZSK machine.

Problem: Files exported with File > Export Machine File method cannot be seen on a  ZSK machine

 

Cause: The issue is caused by the permissions assigned to a file which prevent the ZSK machine reading the file.

 

Workaround: Setup and use Connection Manager

 

Steps:

 

  1. Start EmbroideryStudio
  2. From the Setup menu, select ‘Connection Manager Setup…’.
  3. Click ‘Create’ to create a new connection.
  4. Ensure:
    1. Type is set to Machine Folder
    2. Name: Give it a name you can identify. I.e. ZSK
    3. From File Type select your desired stitch file format such as ZSK TC.
    4. Click Browse and select the folder where your ZSK designs are to be saved.
    5. Optionally you can change the Icon color.
    6. i.e.:
  5. Click OK to save the changes.
  6. A new icon, matching the color you selected above, will now appear in your toolbar:
  7. To Save a design for ZSK, click this new icon.

 

It will save the open design in the folder location and file format specified in the Connection Manager configuration you created above.

 

 

This will allow the user to send a design to ZSK until we issue a hotfix for the File > Export Machine File method.
