Does ES support Windows on Mac with Apple M1 / M2 / M3 / M4 / M5 chip using Parallels Desktop.
Overview
EmbroideryStudio is designed for Windows operating systems and does not run natively on macOS.
However, it can be used on a Mac by running Windows through Parallels Desktop. This setup is considered a supported workaround, not a native environment.
Compatibility Overview
Support depends on your Mac hardware, Windows version, and Parallels configuration.
Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5)
Requires:
- Parallels Desktop (latest version recommended)
- Windows 11 ARM Edition
- Only ARM-based Windows is supported on Apple Silicon Macs
Supported EmbroideryStudio Versions
⚠️ Note: Not all features may be fully tested in a virtualized environment.
System Requirements (Mac + Parallels)
- Minimum: 16GB RAM
- Recommended: 32GB RAM or higher for best performance
Important Notes
- EmbroideryStudio must be installed inside the Windows virtual machine, not on macOS
- Apple Silicon Macs require Windows ARM only
It is important to:
- Keep Windows fully updated
- Use the latest version of Parallels Desktop
Performance depends on:
- Mac hardware
- VM resource allocation
- Parallels configuration
Using outdated Windows or Parallels versions may result in instability or unexpected behaviour.
