The update design information feature allows you to modify the metadata associated with a design in Wilcom Library. Keeping design information up to date ensures designs are easy to find, correctly categorized, and ready for production workflows.
To update a design:
- Select a design in My Designs.
- The Design Information pane opens. You can view and edit design information from this pane.

The Summary tab contains the design’s metadata.
Select a field to edit its value. You can update:
Field | Details |
Title and description | A clear name and description that help identify the design and understand its purpose. |
Customer | The client associated with the design, used to organize and locate designs for specific customers. |
Status | The current stage of the design in your workflow, such as 'requested', 'in progress', or 'approved'. |
Decoration area | The location on the garment or product where the design will be applied. |
Tags | Keywords used to categorize the design and make it easier to search and filter. |
Notes | Additional information or instructions related to the design, such as production details or comments. |
Update design details
You can refine design information to improve organization and searchability. For example:
- Update the title to better describe the design
- Assign or change the customer
- Set or update the status to reflect workflow progress
- Select the correct decoration area
These fields help categorize designs and support filtering.
Tags and notes provide additional context for your designs.
- Tags help you quickly search and filter designs.
- Notes can include instructions, comments, or production details.
You can add, edit, or remove tags and notes at any time.
