Assign threads

Assign threads

Assign commercial or custom thread colors to the colorways in an embroidery design. Matching thread colors to your production thread chart helps ensure production worksheets and machine files accurately reflect the threads used during embroidery.
Info
Thread assignments are stored with each colorway, allowing the same design to use different thread brands or color combinations.

Why assign threads?

Assign threads to:
  1. Match the thread brand used in production.
  2. Create alternative thread combinations for different customers.
  3. Compare equivalent colors from different thread charts.
  4. Produce accurate production worksheets.
  5. Prepare designs for export to embroidery machine file formats.
Info
Truesizer supports both commercial and custom thread charts. Commercial charts let you match commonly used embroidery thread brands. Custom charts allow you to use organization-specific thread collections where available.

Assign threads to a colorway

  1. Open the design in Truesizer.
  2. Select the Colorways tab.

  3. Select the colorway you want to edit.
  4. Click View Thread Chart.

  5. Select the required commercial or custom thread chart.
  6. Select the thread color you want to replace.
  7. Search for a replacement thread.

You can search a thread chart in several ways.
    1. Enter a thread code.
    2. Search by thread name or description.
    3. Scroll through the available colors.
  8. Select the replacement thread. The selected thread is immediately applied to the current color slot.
  9. Repeat the assignment process for each thread color until the colorway contains the required thread combination.
Info
After assigning threads, switch between colorways to compare different thread combinations before selecting the most suitable version for production.

Thread collections

Thread collections are sets of threads derived from standard thread charts or created as custom colors. Thread collections may include threads from one or more thread charts. They are usually made for use with specific designs or customers. For instance, if a particular manufacturer uses a specific range of threads, you may set up a thread collection for that customer.

Account Owners can:

  1. Create thread collections
  2. View and manage thread collections

Remarks

  1. Assign threads after creating a new colorway.
  2. Each colorway can use a different thread chart or a different set of thread colors.
  3. Use descriptive colorway names when comparing different thread brands.
  4. Review the design against different background colors before finalizing thread selections.
