Capture design bitmaps
The Capture Design Bitmap feature allows you to create and download images of designs stored in Wilcom Library. Bitmap previews are useful for sharing design visuals with customers, including designs in documentation, or referencing designs in production workflows without needing the original embroidery file.
Capture & download design bitmaps
You can download a design in its original file format.
To download a single bitmap image...
- Select a design in My Designs.
- Click the more actions menu (3 dots) below the design and select Capture Design Bitmap from the droplist.
- Alternatively, use the associated button on the Information Panel toolbar.
By default, the file is downloaded as a PNG file to the local Download folder. This will depend on your browser download settings.
To download multiple bitmap images...
- Select the checkbox on each design you want to download.
- Select Download from the available actions.
Selected designs are captured as bitmap images and packaged as a ZIP file. Check download status in 'Bulk Action Manager' at the bottom of the screen.
By default the ZIP file will appear in the local Download folder of your PC, according to your browser download settings.
Use bitmap images
Bitmap images can be used for:
- Customer approvals
- Email communication
- Documentation and reports
- Production reference
They provide a quick visual representation of the design without requiring embroidery software.
Bitmap limitations
Bitmap images are visual previews only and do not contain embroidery data.
- They cannot be used for stitching.
- They do not include editable design information.
- Image quality may vary depending on zoom or display settings.
Use the original design file or exported formats for production.
