Save & upload designs

Save embroidery designs to Library to preserve your work and make designs available across Wilcom applications. How a design is saved depends on where it was originally opened.

If you opened the design from...	Save to Library	Upload to Library
Your computer or Free Designs	Saves the design to Library as a new design.	Saves the design to Library as a new design.
Library	Saves changes to the existing Library design.	Saves the edited design as a new Library design, leaving the original unchanged.

Save a new design to Library

If you open a design from your computer or from Free Designs, it is not yet stored in Library. Use Save to Library to upload the design and create a new Library design.

To save a new design

1. Open a design from your computer or Free Designs.
   
2. Make any required changes.
   
3. Click Save to Library.
4. Enter the design information if prompted.
   
   
5. Click Upload to save the design. The design is uploaded to Library and becomes available to other Wilcom applications.

Save changes to an existing Library design

If you open a design from Library and make changes, Save to Library updates the existing design. This command is available only after the design has been modified.

To save changes

1. Open a design from Library.
2. Edit the design.
   
   
3. Click Save to Library. Your changes are saved to the existing Library design.

Upload a design as a new copy

Use Upload to Library when you want to keep the original Library design and save the edited version as a separate design. This works like Save As in other applications.

To upload a new copy

1. Open a design from Library.
2. Make the required changes.
   
   
3. Click Upload to Library.
4. Enter a name and any required design information.
   
   
5. Upload the design. A new design is created in Library, while the original design remains unchanged.

Create a new version of an existing Library design	Upload to Library

If you want to preserve the original version of a design, use Upload to Library. This creates a new Library design instead of replacing the existing one.
